McStay family missing, possible connection to Belize?

Apparently Joseph McStay owns property in Belize.

“Over the last few weeks, investigators have been through the McStay family’s bank accounts, their phone records. They have contacted officials in Belize, where Joseph owned a property. They have found no clues, they said.”

Interesting article about Belize here, from 2001:

“Of the many appealing things about Belize, probably none is more important to prospective retirees and relocatees than the relatively low cost of housing here. To be sure, in a few prime areas you can spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on North American-style luxury home, but you can also buy raw land at prices not seen in the U.S. since the 1960s and in some areas find a simple but pleasant rental house near the sea for under US$100 or $200 a month.”

I think someone should be making a trip to Belize, or at the very least get some fliers posted down there.

It is pretty common for folks from Southern Calif that like to surf to own or spend time in Costa Rica and Belize.

Are we sure that Ed Fitzgerald is not an ex of Joey’s mother? She has several ex’s. Maybe HE is also in Belize.

The McStay’s could easily hop a boat out of Mexico and cruise on over to Belize. There has to be someone with a boat and no scruples that would take them.

Personally, I think they have false ID’s and false passports by now and are on their way to Italy. Just a hunch. If they are, then they need to let someone in their family know about this. A letter can be mailed from anywhere in the world. All you have to do is get someone to mail it from anywhere YOU aren’t.

Wherever they are, I hope they are safe and the children are happy and well cared for.

I have no idea if he is nor do I think it relevant who this Ed guy is. I doubt it’s related at all.

I doubt very much they vanished of their own accord. While I’d love for them to be found alive and well, I truly don’t expect that to happen.

I truly want the McStays to be located all safe and sound also. I just differ with you in that I do believe they left on their own.
